Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG for short was the first FPS battle royal game in the industry. This game inspired a lot of games that launched afterward such as Fortnite and ROS. PUBG in its first initial release was a hit because of how unique the gameplay is and its combat system. Its popularity gave birth to the mobile version of the game. The mobile version of the game is very much the same as the PC version although you might see differences here and there.

These main differences impacted the game’s original gameplay and its features as well.

The mobile version adapted to the free-to-play model

This is one of the mobile version’s main changes. The game adapted and include the free-to-play(F2P) models such as daily login rewards, level-ups, and experience. It also has the activity points system that a lot of F2P games have. This system will reward you 5 crates when you complete a certain number of missions. Unlike the PC version, this version can be downloaded on Android and iOS for free. Though this move of porting to mobile devices will make the game vulnerable to player unknown battlegrounds aimbot that’s been around on the internet, the developers already made and improve its application to make it hack-free.

The difference in game modes and controls

The mobile version presented a whole new gameplay mode called “Zombie: Survive Until Dawn”, a crossover collaboration with Resident Evil 2. The collaboration mode aside, the game also has Solo, Duo, and Squad mode adapted. They also introduced a mobile-original mode called “Arcade Mode”. This mode features a 24 player limit map that is inspired by the new Savage map concept on the PC version. They changed the controls on the mobile version as well. It has an original HUD and virtual buttons as controls in the game.
